Silver window trim

On the exterior of the car around the windows. This only comes with the 335i/xi. I am looking to get it on my 328xi sedan. Is there anyway I can have the dealer install if its an accessorie option? Where can I get this?

Swap with someone who wants your black trim. Too bad you don't live in NJ. lol!

I'm sure there are a couple of members in Boston that would swap with you.

It can't be ordered on the car in the U.S. You have to buy it from the parts dept. and install it after you get your car.

Since I haven't done it myself, I'm not sure if the adjective LTO forgot was "easy" or "difficult".

Again. No.
Once you remove the chrome trim, it can't be reused on another car.

It's almost impossible to swap. When I did my Shadowline trim, we ended up destroying every piece of the original trim......

Thanks guys. For $400 I may look into this option after I take delivery of the car. Since I would never be able to install myself, any ideas what the stealership would charge to do sometihng like that?

As many people in this forum, I like the black trim. A lot of people pay to have their chromes changed into the black trims. I got it for free by buying a cheaper car just enjoy it!

Contrary to others experience here, and the well-written DYI referenced above, the chrome trim *can* be removed w/ no damage. When removing it from the base of the windows, gently pull the thin chrome strip up from the rubber base/window seal (they are actually two parts that are sold as one unit). I removed it easily from my 335 w/out a kink, bend, or stress crack.

Funny how the 325/328 guys want to dump their black trim and get chrome, and the 330/335 guys want to dump the chrome and get the black.

Yea, I was just used to it on my A4. Just a fit and finish thing I guess. Matter of personal opinion. Maybe I will just say F it.
