Thoughts on trailing, toe, etc. arms.

Hey guys, interested in some opinions on suspension upgrades. I Currently have 85k on my suspension and I'm looking to do a full replacement. My goal is to have a trackable DD, with emphasis on performance first, followed by reliability. I don't really care about NVH.

My list so far is as follows:
Ground control street and school CO's with m3 camber links and GC caster plates. http://www.ground-control-store.com/.../II=903/CA=165
M3 front and rear suspension arms

I'm considering not using the m3 bits and going full aftermarket, and definitely upgrading the trailing/toe arms. I've heard good and bad things about Megan and RE, only bad about Meyle, nothing about ground control.

What would you use? Is there something I'm overlooking? Is there another vendor with better hardware? I don't want to replace anything with OE to find out later there was an upgrade I hadn't seen.

Thanks in advance!

same deal here.

I am gathering parts to freshen the rear end up - I ordered Manzo toe arms, they look similar to Megan, but half the money. If those work well, I will be buying more of their parts.

I saw the manzo toes and a couple of reviews, but I'm not sure. The eBay listings say it's a hardened rubber bushing. I don't know how long that would last, or if it would have any performance increase over the stock bits.

For as inexpensive as they are, and easy to replace, I suppose I could throw a pair on and see what happens.

ECS makes a nice trailing arm upgrade that is significantly stronger than stock. Running it on my car, fitment is perfect and they look great.

Are the trailing arms damaged at all? If not they don't need replacing, just new bushings. Depending on your definition of DD you might consider spherical bearings instead.

True that.

I have read a few reviews of guys that have 20k miles on them with no issues. My oem ones lasted over 150k before they were so dead that it made the car undriveable... so if these last half that I'm doing quite OK. I got them mainly because they are quiet and more adjustable making it easier to atain acceptable toe specs when I get it lined up.

Here's the read deal with our cars. The main reason the rear suspension is so excellent and contributes to the awesome ride and handling is the 5 link setup. But that 5 link setup means that changing just one part of it with harder bushings will not necessarily make like changing differences...it all adds up and works together. It also means that when it comes time to overhaul the rear end there's a TON of dead rubber bushings back there...

Just like the front of the car..it eats up control arm and stabilizer end links due to the shit roads, but I'd rather own a car that requires more maintenance but is a pleasure to drive to work, take on road trips and track... than some bland driving appliance.

My car has 70k miles on the clock. How do I tell when the rear suspension bits need to be freshened up? What are the symptoms I should look out for? Thanks guys.
