Those are okay. The best part of those kits you showed me are the adapter blocks. You will need one of those to run any non oem cooler. The cooler themselves look like junk, and if you have the money buy a new or used setrab oil cooler. They are top of the line. The adapter block can be bought separately. Let me know if you need more details or clarification.

Those kit still require there retrofit kit if you dont have an oil cooler stock right?

Bump for search.. I dont have any oil cooler at all.. I take it any of these kits is better than no kit right???

I recently had one of the similar Ebay coolers installed. I had to replace my oil filter housing with one that had the thermostat and the fittings for the hoses. Got it used from the performance shop that did the install. They were fine with the quality of the hoses, fittings and cooler. I drove it with the stock thermostatic valve for a couple of weeks and did not notice much of an oil temp drop. Had an AD Engineering thermostatic valve (about $39 when it's in stock) installed and noticed an immediate drop in oil temps both daily driving and at the track. IF you replace your Oil filter housing, (and you pretty much have to, to add an oil cooler) note the year of the oil filter housing, when ordering the T-stat valve, as apparently an 07' housing will fit an 08' motor, but the valve dimensions are different. Nice mod which gives me peace of mind.

We have a 2007 335i sport model with a build date of 3/2007. We just missed the oil cooler as a factory standard item by one month. I purchased a used oil filter housing with the external hose connections and replaced both of the gaskets (cheap insurance). I then bought an adapter and an ebay cooler like one of the ones you posted.

I made my own oil cooler mounting brackets and cut a hole in the plastic wheel housing shroud for ventilation. With it installed the oil gauge now reads about 20 degrees cooler on a hot day and running the car hard. In our case it did help quite a bit.
