Is it wrong that this is making me rather excited!?

Curious to know why you didnt use something else with more power/FI to play around with a lot more power.

Rules for the class that we are running. M engine will force us to add weight and push us up a class. FI is not an option with this engine at all.

This is really cool to see. Do you have a build thread anywhere? I'd love to see the progress from start to finish.

We will have a build thread once it's complete. My buddy is doing 98% of the build and has taken pics along the way.

Hey, any more info on that Dinan throttle body & CAI? As others have said, I didn't realize they were supporting the N52. Cool project, btw.

They share the same motor. Yes, every motor mod should work on the e90.

I have seen this car on dyno at RMP Motors

N52 3.0L

292HP @ Wheels!!!!

Sounds awsome @ 8400 RPM

I can ask for more information if you like.

You can find some pic and dyno video on the site

Yes, I've spoken to them a few times already. It's a full-blown race engine.

Sorry, "my" car is a 2006 330i. I street drive it and have tracked it for seven years now.
Power adders for my 330 include:
Dinan CAI
Dinan Throttle Body
Dinan Exhaust
AA Tune
LSD with 3.38 rear gears (not a power adder, but definitely a huge difference in the way the car drives and feels)

+1

Have the same Dinan mods as Rob and Quaife LSD. The LSD makes a huge difference on track and wet roads.

I think the trick with N52 cars is to take the weight out. Ideally I would like to get to 3K lbs 300HP at the wheel and have some reliability as well. That would be one awesome machine.

I think Rob is somewhere around 3200 lbs based on his previous posts with carbon fiber body parts. That red 330i is probably very close to 3K lbs empty. The cage adds some weight back unfortunately.

I might have to get those headers at some point ...

GL Rob to your build and happy racing!

I'm thinking that e90 is less than 3k. Probably under 2800lbs.

this thread and that car is pure money. great work. I really wish you guys took a baseline dyno before the headers. Haven't seen anyone dyno the SS headers. My custom headers made about 15 wtq and about 12whp on a dynocom. I have another design I haven't tested yet still. Obiwanchen bought a set he will install next week. I hope he has some numbers. Still looking forward to your dyno though.

:O

2700 lbs for an E90 is baby weight.

Curious what they did to the motor to get to 292 whp!
