LET Motorsport Flash Stage 1 - First to dyno on this side of the States!
Today wasn't the greatest day to dyno a car, here is why:
Ambient temp was around 70F Humidity was a power destroying 86%!!! average for the area is 62% Which explains the lower than average numbers produced. However the delta is what we are truely after here. The car: A 2008 E92 coupe with manual transmission Modification: None Results... Stock: 228.7 hp 271.6 tq LET Stage 1: 268.6 hp 298.8 tq The LET Flash Stage 1 made 40 more hp and 27 more ft/lb of torque at peak than stock. In the curve, it made 44 more hp! and 37 more ft/lb! of torque, great numbers for a flash running 11.7 psi of boost. During some back to back dyno runs we saw significant drop in both hp and tq, heat soak of the stock intercooler was the cause here. We lost 18 hp and 12 ft/lb of torque at peak. In the curve, we lost 24 hp and 22 ft/lb or torque. By adding a nice intercooler, such as the Code3 Spearco unit will solve this heat soaking issue. Retail price on the LET Motorsport Flash is $699. You will most likely see very silimar base number and gians, just with the power shifted upwards of 30+ across the board.

No one cares about the top power numbers, but those delta values are horrible! The whole group may bump up under better conditions, but the delta should remain the same. If that flash is only worth 40 rwhp, then that is not good at all.

yup that is low boost for sure.
any plans for more stages to be tested? you will need a 14-15psi map to get people excited on here.

I'm confused by the numbers...
Stock: 228.7 hp 271.6 tq LET Stage 1: 268.6 hp 298.8 tq What's with the stock car dyno'ing @ 228.7WHP? Stock 335i's typically dyno @ ~ 260-275WHP. Even if this was done on a Mustang dyno, it's way too low. Also, why is it a "Stage 1" flash? What other mods did the 335i have for this stage 1? In any account, I agree with the others who say that +40WHP and + 27 lb-ft TQ is not so good; it's like the SSTT or worse.

I had heard they made chassis dynos but I've never seen one myself: http://www.superflow.com/dynamometers/index_824.cfm They must be a bit low compared to Dynojet.

well look at the boost.....turn your car down to 11.7psi and see what it puts down. if this tune made 44hp over stock in the delta at 11.7psi, I dont see why it wont put down an additional 45hp or so at 14.7psi...given an estimate of 15hp/1lb of boost. that would put it right around 85-90hp over stock.

Or, let's see what the flash does when the peak boost is 15 psi. Congrats Harold! This seems to be very promising!

What happened with this flash?
What ever happened with this flash from LET.
http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=225202 It was said to be more HP than a JB3 with that amount of boost? Just curious. |

This wasn't meant to compete with JB3, it's an entry level Stage 1 flash. |

No, I don't think so. My car was dyno'd in a much warmer weather with similar humidity and got 265WHP / 286 lb-ft. RWTQ stock; it's usually that humid here.
