Question HELP! changed to new wheels and now car won't move at all!

Hi all,

Thought i'd change to my new alloys today and have run into a problem. I changed my 158 style alloys for 289 alloys and now the car won't move. The car won't go forward or reverse, as if something is in the way.
I have 20mm spacers on the back. Also I've noticed since i changed my wheels is the hand brake pulls up normally then you hear a little clunk and goes a bit loose.

i hope I'm making sense.

Thanks in advance

Take everything off and put the wheels on that worked, then work from there.

What if jacked each side and spin each wheel one by one. Do you think that would show the problem?
I got a feeling it could be the rear spacers but they worked on my 158's.

Sounds like the bolts are too long and hitting the handbrake shoes on the rear ?

The offset on the 158s are ET34 can't find an offset of the 289 wheel
How many turns are you doing when bolting them up ?

EPIC FAIL on my part.....

I jacked up the rear offside wheel, spun it a few times and was fine. I then jacked the nearside and found that the wheel was not turning. Me and my 8 year old son started our investigation...

I was racking my brains as to why one side was fine and the opposite side wasn't. I was taking out the bolts then tried pulling and pushing all sorts of things to see what it was catching on...I found that it was catching something behind the wheel but being dark i couldn't really see much, even with a torch.
My son (bearing in mind he's 8yrs old) walks to the rear and said "you wally, one of wheels sticks out further on one side than the other. You must of put them on wrong?"
It then dawned on me what i had done... I took off the old wheel without checking it and yes the spacer was still attached to the wheel and not on the hub that i was expecting it to be!
Have now put the spacer on the car now, looks a lot more classy and drives like a dream now.

Gave my son a high five and grounded him for calling me a wally lol (JOKE)

Thanks all for your input.

Will post pics of the new wheels later...
