Should there be oil here?

It's a really nice day out so I figured I'd do some engine bay cleaning. Took the engine cover off and was checking out around the plugs/fuel injectors. I looked down and saw these holes next to the injectors and saw that some of them had oil on them, others were bone dry.

This may be normal but it definitely alarmed me. Doesn't seem like there should be oil coming out of these.

Short answer, no. Longer answer, that oil looks unused. So, I'd bet it's spill over from an oil change or fluid top off.

Oil in that neck of the woods is usually from ^ the above, or a shot valve cover gasket.

+1 . When I had my last dealer oil change I replaced my plugs 2 days later. Dealer spilled almost double what you have into my spark plug valley. He had to of known but to lazy to clean it. I had to soak it all up with several paper towels. anyway yes mine looked similar just oil in 2 plug valley's

ah that makes me feel better. My last oil change was done by the dealer, guess it's a good thing I just got all the tools required to do it myself.

I haven't had oil loss problems, I'll keep an eye on it though to see if it gets worse. Thanks guys.

Probably a spill based on the cleanliness of the oil.

Perform housekeeping maintenance and wipe oil. Observe condition 2-300 miles later and report results.
