2006 330i growl

New guy here. Recently bought a 2006 330i with 68k on it. Im at 72k now and it makes a growling noise at 1100 RPMs and continues to make the noise until you go past or drop below that rpm . The noise is centrally located in the car. Any suggestions on where to start would be greatly appreciated!

That's a normal 330i noise.... Take it past 4k rpm it'll be a roar not a growl.

Does it sound kinda of like a vibrating noise then when you raise the RPM it stops? Also, does it only do it when in D, not DS? That's what mine does. Have not figured out what it is. Dealership has not been able to dupicate it.

it sounds like a vibrating/ gear mesh noise. it does it in any gear at 1100 rpm, DS or D and in manual mode. Its annoyin the crap outta me. It just started doing this about a week ago and i havent drove it much since then.
and mine can be duplicated all the time.

i would get under it and take a look.

i went over a speedbump hard once and it bent a bracket against the exhaust.

i swear it sounded like the car was f-ed up good. grinding/vibrating.

the bracket im thinking of is near the tranny.

with the car running, you could also use your foot to slightly move the exhaust tips left/right/up/down. see if the noise goes away or get worse. if it does, something is rubbing your exhaust somewhere.
