Changing RFT's and loosing type 230 rims

So I had a puncture today on one of my pretty much brand new RFT's. Tyre shops all said wasn't repairable due to sidewall wear (there was a chunk coming off!)

So they charged me a whopping £320 (about$500) for the one tyre 255/30/19 bridgestone re50 RFT.

I'v decided that I can't absorb the cost of another few of these should this happen regularly so I want to loose the 19" type 230 rims in favour of some M6 18" reps.

My question is if I buy some 18x8 m6 reps could I fit 235/40/18 tyres all round without causing any issues. Also what happens about the tyre pressure system?

Any advice or help would be great, feel very gutted after a very expensive sunday morning blast!
