N55 muffler delete throwing codes

I had my muffler delete done on my 2011 335 n55 about 6 months ago and I recently got an engine malfunction light with reduced power so I brought it to the dealer. They tell me that the code is for a low pressure code and it's from the exhaust no question. I've read all over that it will not throw any codes and that it would be no problem can anyone give me some insight to what else it could be. I feel as if they're just placing blame on the aftermarket piping

Thats bull shit. I had my muffler delete done like 6 months ago too and have taken it to the dealer like 12 times since. Never got any codes and the dealer never gave a shit about it or mentioned it. They just told me it sounds good lol. I think it's something else.

Did they give you a number of the code? You could look it up yourself and see what it is. I have never heard of a low exhaust pressure error and there is no sensor for that.

Low pressure? Sounds like the low pressure fuel pressure sender is bad. Absolutely, unquestionably unrelated to the exhaust.

Low pressure fuel pressure sensor: 13 53 7 614 317, $102.85 retail.

I agree with Aren, I had my muffler delete done about six months ago and never had any issues. A muffler delete should not give that kind of error. Get the actual code and/or take it to another dealer.

Yup yup yup; total bullshit.

I've come to realize that most BMW techs don't know shit. I had one call me up, telling me that he can't diagnose my car because I changed the blow-off valves. I had to hold the guy's hand, and explain to him that my car is an N55 - and that my valve is integrated into the turbo. He called me back a few hours later, and confirmed that it was an N55. No shit asshole.

Let them bring in a tech from BMW NA, and watch as he calls them idiots.

lol, they'll literally blame anything on a modification.

My parents have a Passat and I put in HIDs - fine for over a year, they got a transmission malfunction code and the dealer blamed it on the lights. Never did find out what it really was but they cleared the code and it hasn't come back.. I don't know if they're just lazy or incompetent.

Dealer came back to me and said charging air pressure low
59766 charging air pressure low road tested vehicle to duplicate customer concern, connected battery charging ran short test found faults for charging air pressure two low valvtronic servo motor activation, ran test plans found no problem with valvtronic servo servo motor diag code d1130_0000000_05_901, but found the vaccum system to have a leak due to removal of the exhaust and non installation of exhaust flap not properly installing the vaccum line which will cause vehicle to display a engine malfunction light can anyone shed some light on this or they're just typing up some bullshit again hate the dealer with a passion

is the vacuum line that use to go to your exhaust flap just hangning there? if so you need to plug it up and that might get rid of your error.

By vacuum line are you referring to the "Golf Tee Mod"?

The vacuum line went to the old solenoid that you did the golf tee mod on. That line needs to be plugged up. While the exhaust is not to blame for low vacuum, the failure to plug that line could possibly do it.

Just unplug the actuator in the trunk. It will throw an exhaust flap code, but won't make any dash lights show up. At least then, they can't blame it on a vacuum leak.

pretty much the golf tee mod is just plugging up that hose. you just cant leave it open. then the car obviously knows its not there. and gets ANGRY! haha

+1^ only thing about that it sounds like his dealership will blame something on that too!

if you have another dealership anywhere close i would try them. i'm lucky i have a few down here.

Well before you bring it to the dealership, simply take 3 minutes to plug it back in. Then you can unplug it again afterwards.

but if he plugs it back in with the vacuum tube not attached to anything he will get the same code he was getting before. best to just plug up that vacuum line. then that code should go away and you can see what other thing they try to blame it on. hopefully it just works for you.

have you ever performed a leak test on your car? to make sure that you are good from the turbo to your intake?

The idea is to not have the vacuum line plugged or altered at all. Return the line back to normal, and disconnect the actuator. You will achieve the same results as interrupting the line. Then before you bring it to the dealership, plug it back in.
