AFE Intake causing car to surge

Installed last Saturday. Car has surging sensation during hard acceleration. Removed yesterday and started from scratch. Everything is tight, with no air leaks. Has anyone dealt with this previously?

LOL, sorry it probably wasn't funny at the time but the "matter-of-fact" way that you said that was hilarious..

How long did you have the intake on the car? Did the ECU adjust to the increased air flow? Any CEL or error codes?

Did you try and disconnect the battery for an hour or so to reset the ecu?

Are the maf spacers or gasket in place?

If it persists take it off reset the ecu by the battery method and narrow it down.

I have that surging around 3-4.5k rpm I do not have an afe intake but im pretty sure its my fuel pump

Will take a look at the spacers and gasket for the MAF. This truly sucks. I contacted AFE and they stated they have never heard of this type of reaction by the car.

Dumb question: If I disconnect my battery, will it affect the Autothority reflash?

I am not familiar with that reflash but it shouldn't. I know it will not effect software upgrades like the AA Processor or JB units.

Off topic, but there is an ECU reflash for the 325i?

There are several companies that offer an ECU tune, AA has an option for your car.
