Spare tire
Since I have upgraed my tire and wheel package i need a spare. Does anyone know if there is a donut i can buy that does not take up much trunk room or shoould I just go with a plug kit and a pump? Im sure this is fairly common, what does everyone else do when they ditch the run flats?

I purchased a e46 jack off ebay for 40$ shipped. I carry one of my winter wheels in the trunk during the summer and a summer wheel in the trunk during the winter. This was the cheapest way for me since I did not need an extra wheel for a spare.

Tough to fit golf clubs AND a wheel in the trunk. I assume you tie it down. RFT....just one MORE reason why I will never drive another BMW.

I have not tried golf clubs yet but my hockey bag and stick fit in there with the full sized spare. With one of the rear seats down I am sure it would not be a problem. I have not found that it is necessary to tie it down. It has never slid around on me.

I got a donut kit from an E60 for $100. Look at that option too if you go the donut route.

It should make the car smell/look nice with the seat down. If it hasnt moved on you you havent hit the brakes very hard. I'd strap it down.

That said though, I'm not sure I'd trust the latches on flip down rear seats to hold a full size spare in a significant event. Nothing like a wheel to the back of the head to mess you up. I'd say secure those things. |

Ebay! It's really hit or miss... was looking around for about two months and found one. It's strapped down with bungee cords using the cargo hooks behind the back seat. Works well.

Tischer has good pricing on the E60 compact spare that fits our cars
With that being said, I did get mine off eBay from private seller - never used for $65 shipped - you just have to be patient...
