Adjustable endlinks DONT BUY HOTCHKIS
So I got the front adjustable hotchkis endlinks installed. 1 month into having them installed I hear clunking every time I turn the steering at slow speeda. Today I decided to do my brakes and find there is no endlink on the front passenger side, the whole middle piece/bar is missing and just the bolts with the ball joints are present. These were to short am assuming and just couldn't take the strain of a lowered car.
Could you guys recommend some adjustable endlinks, so far I have heard of ground control, hpa harold endlinks, and white line. But since some of them have a spherical joint they start clunking. Reason I went with the hotchkis is they use a ball joint and dont need to greased over time but most other aftermarket brands use exposed heim joints(spherical joint ) that can start making noise overtime. These are race parts - they aren't meant for street use. heim joints just don't last when exposed to the elements constantly.
The links attach to the strut right? you should make them longer. On one of my BMWs, I just moved the attachment point on the strut, and used stock links - they will last 100,000 miles, while the race parts might last 20,000. |

I was assuming this as well but as far as I could tell by watvhing the tech install seemed ok, but one thing he did was preload the car before adjusting them. Anything else he should or should not done? Icant remeber if they were made longer or shorter. Does anyone have the stock length of a stock tie rod?

To make sure they are at the correct length and equal length. I was't there. I don't know who your tech is but seem like they weren't installed correctly.

Any suggestions on what to say to the shop that installed them, something along lines of a bad installation that has prematurely ruined the tie ends, what can you guys do about it? I know these have life time warranty but thing is was a it a defective tie rod or bad installation?
