I would check in drop off bags then I would park up north and take the train downtown. There is plenty of free parking in the Lakeview area and you can hop on the Red or Brown, just remember where you parked.

Depends where you are at. Parking is much cheaper on the west side of the city close to 90/94 if you don't mind walking a bit.

Whenever I'm downtown I always park in 1 E. 8th. Seems to be the most reasonable garage in the area. If you go slightly further down N. Wabash you can find cheaper parking but it's outside and almost always full.
