Well I never looked at it that way, I just want to finish the look I was going for. The whole car is pretty dark and tints would just complete it imho.

I tinted mine myself, the back window is difficult even with the heat gun and the right tools (brother works at a vinyl shop). It took me three times to get the back formed correctly without any creases.

I only used 50% VLT though, I've been told PA law forbids tint but I've never actually known anyone who had an issue with it.

Anyway you can buy professional film a few places online, mine is the SolarGard which blocks something like 99% of UV rays. Someone asked why even bother tinting but if nothing else I'd tint the windows with something very light that blocks UV just because the sun is real bad on the back deck and headrests etc.

I would say anything darker than 35% is excessive, particularly for this area.

Out of all the projects this one was the most difficult because its very hard to get perfect, that said, it wasn't something I want to do again unless its something like a truck with a flat panel, the curves are tricky, I have a lot of respect for the pro shops.

I would recommend buying a high quality film, make sure you get UV protection with it, and watch some Youtube videos on shrinking the film to the back window. Otherwise the only advice I would give you is you have to keep the area very clean, you don't want any dust at all or you will see it for sure.

Oh yeah about Sunday, yeah I could probably head down there. What's the parking situation like, I realize it is Sunday but do you guys park at one of the private lots down there or what?
