Pls post name of shop that will paint my calipers for me. Related. I was wondering if anyone has been using those $200 MGP caliper covers for a while. (any rattling noise or issues ?). I know Brembo covers are also available for $40 but that looks too cheesy.. thanks

For those wanting to get their calipers painted in the western burbs and rust sanded around the rotors and painted a friend of mine recently got his car done at Bob Carter Body shop in downers grove. They did a really good job. I am getting mine done this week. Will post pics once it warms up. Very fair price. http://bobcartersautobody.com/

What kind of paint do they use? Powdercoat available?

you take your own paint and give to them. i am just planning on using the matte black vht high temp caliper paint available at Autozone and silver high temp vht for the stuff below shiny rotors. They will quote you on phone just call them. (below $300)

Less than 300 TO PAINT THESE!? That's absurd. My buddy paid 150.00 and that was because he powder coated them ad they hand painted BMW on them.

I thought more like 50 bucks. Oh well I guess ill just clean my caliper up.

even if you fuk it up, just re do them. for 300 bux you can buy paint and other materials like 5 times over. by than you ll be dam good at it.

I tried to do this myself and the damn brake dust was BAKED on. Took an hour on one caliper and looked dirty still. Gave up lol

Well I soaked it for like 10 minutes. I mean I tried Sonax on the calipers. Simple green. It just wasnt as clean as I wanted it.

sonax is for wheels. not going to cut if for baked on brake dust.

simple green may do it if you let them soak in it for a few hrs.

If you're gonna pay for something have them sandblasted then paint yourself. Don't forget the clear coat!

I was cleaning my wheels so I just decided to use it...no luck there lol I will probably just have them powder coated Gloss black.

i had my rims powdered coated at Wheel Techs Rim Repair Center and they did a great job. I am going to have my calipers done by them when i do my break job this summer, if you bring them the caliper dismounted from the car, its 50 bucks a caliper which is not to bad imo

Any wheel repair shop can powercoat your calipers. Blue are more desirable so you can even find some factory red to swap with.
