Can't go to work!

So, some tree huggers have decided to occupy 2 stacks at West Burton B Power Station. They're posting on twitter @nodashforgas. Hope it doesn't last long as I'm contract and not sure if I'll get paid. Bastards!

...as proper contractors say, "Better a leg off than a day off!"

I think they'd struggle to get near the power stations we deal with.

And these people will go home tonight and expect to switch a light on and put the kettle on - where do they think the power comes from? Hypocrites.

Nuclear I'd say?

I was at WBUR last year - Is B the new CCGT?

We were in the NGrid substation out back of the main coal station, refitting the Cottam circuit equipment.

So true - if they practised what they preached and lived in tents, they might deserve a degree of credibility, but as you correctly imply, that would be a bit uncomfortable. It's time they found something constructive to do with all that spare time they, so very obviously, have on their hands.

Problem is they wont be going home tonight. They've set up a 'tent' in one of the stacks and reckon they have supplies for a week!

There's still loads of people working on this site as it's still under construction in places and we're way on with commissioning. A big number of these people are contract like me. I wonder if I can send my invoice to nodashforgas at the end of this week!!

Matt why did your car take so long from build to delivery?

A complete cock-up basically, which I think was compounded by changes going on to the production line. They used to build the JCW with a CooperS bodykit and then swap it out afterwards. With the deletion of the aero kit in favour of the JCW kit they then started to fit the bodykit to the hatch on the production line, but not the Clubman, perhaps because they sell so few of them. Only about 110 of them in the UK in total!

So the car was built with a CooperS bodykit and they then didn't have any bodykits in the right colour (basically it's the MINI equivalent of an individual colour). So lots of broken promises later I emailed the MD, they suddenly were able to find a bodykit and get it to the car, paint it, fit it and finally deliver the car.

Let's hope the next car doesn't have as many issues.
