Our new works van....

Well i would like to thank in no particular order.

Jen - for putting up with my short temper this week
Darly - for doing a lot of the graft
James - for supplying the van
Dan - For sorting the vinyl
Ant - from Power Surge for sorting the wheels
Smil3r for the headlights
Tom - for the tints
Everyone else for the kind words...

Saturday the 19th of June 2010

Collected a Brand new 10 Plate 1.9Sportive SE Astravan

Over the next 6 days until Friday the 25th of June the van has transformed into...

25 year old Astra badges + Insignia CDTI badge..

On go the springs, a 45mm drop allround

and the rear tint.

some after settling shots..

Next to arrive was the Burg Interior carbon parts..

Next was the VXR gear stick and cruise control fitted by Ant our local resident Vauxhall tech.

Next was last night and the begining of the carbon..

at this point the roof, wing mirrors and rear bootstrip were carbon wrapped and the retro ASTRA badge was added..

on the 6th day the correct wheels arrived..

and were sent back as they were the wrong fitment, and were replaced with these...

Also today the Heko wind deflectors arrived, as did the painted griffin (thanks Lawro), and Dan came back to wrap the V Grill and the 2 toe eyes too..

and now.....

the end of Stage 1 of our plans...

Future plans:

LED Conversion (this sunday)
VXR Steering wheel
More carbon
Alcon 4 pots
Dobe Board
Dobe cam...

Oh dear, not my style at all. The Vauxhall forums would love it.

As long as you like it though.

I like it! now thats a cool van Ride hight is perfect too!

Only thing im not sure about is the wheels - is there 2 colours? I think maybe all black or all silver might look better? although, it might look stunning as it is in person

I felt the same when the Mrs pulled up with them on as i thought they were all black, ill be honest i like the now and the photos dont do them justice..

At some angles they look all black, then black and silver, then black and white

The Vauxhall guys love it, and at the end of the day its a van that will keep up with a focus ST/Astra VXR and still return 45mpg and cost me nothing to run and its a lot better looking than a transit connect lol

Andrew, van looks super cool. Was gonna do alot to my next one, but alas, after 12 years of driving astravans, my current one has started to severly hurt my lower back. Did think about other seats but tbh, all vauxhall seats are crap for very low lumber/coccyx support, and i think part of the problem is that the seat/steering wheel and pedals are all ever so slightly offset from one and other. Ever noticed?

Anyhow, golf bluemotion estate it is for me, when wolfsburg get there fingers out.
