WeissLicht LED Side Lenses
Just received my WeissLicht LED Side Lenses from JLevi and I was excited cause I was sick of looking at my dulled out OEM lenses. But I'm very disappointed. I have a 2008 e90, so this may not apply to newer cars, but the fitment is definitely way off. First of all there are two plastic pieces on the back that prevent them from sitting flush to the car. I used a dremel to remove them and despite removing the plastic pieces they still did not fit correctly to the car. I appears that the housing that hold the LED is too long to fit in the cut out in the fender. After a few minutes of trying to figure out how to make it fit I tried to take them off and it was pretty wedged in there. I had to slide a piece of plastic behind the lense and the car to get it off. And then finally when I was walking back inside the lense cover falls off in my hand. I'm sure pushing on it may have caused the lense to fall off, but it was definitely not well put together if trying to fit it to the car caused the lense to fall off. Makes me think that eventually it would have fallen off the car.

That's exactly what happened to me. They didn't fit right and eventually fell apart. The picture is the exact problem I had.
JLevi assured me they have installed over "30 of these" without an issue, but would not honor any kind of replacement or return, they expected me to pay for new ones at "their cost". Sorry to hear your issues, but at least you're not alone.

I don't think weisslicht actually designs any of their products.
After buying weisslicht LED angel eyes from bimmian, I found out you can buy the exact set, packaged in the same box, with the same tools that come with it,....for under $50. They are 6W LED units that weisslicht rebranded and marked up 300%. Yea..... |

I got some from bavarianx. One of them didn't work when they arrived and they wouldn't take a return. Also the clear cover part straight up fell off. Still they wouldn't work with me.
I then bought the same set on ebay for way less than what I originally paid. They don't fit great, but it's ok. |

I wish I had read this post before purchasing one. I bought one a few weeks ago, finally got aroudn to it and same issue. I contacted JLEVISW and they only take return MINUS 20% restocking fee. WTF $#$# - as a company if you know you're selling DEFECTIVE product and not a perfect fit UNLESS the customer has to make adjustment then WHY SELL IT? This presents NEGATIVE as a company. I HAD TO PURCHASE A SET OF FILES to get rid of the back plastic clip in order to fit them but THEY'RE NOT PERFECT AS THE ORIGINAL. STAY AWAY FROM THIS UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE PISSED OFF AND STAY AWAY FROM JLEVISW.

At first when I put mine on this happened to me, but I applied some pressure and managed to push it in. I think you need to slide it a little further back and push it in a little more.
I've had no problem with these. These have lasted 3 months so far and the fitment was near perfect. The only thing that bugged me was that it didn't have the rubber liner around the outsides like the OEM ones did, but hardly noticeable. JLeviSW are good people. They sent me the wrong license plate frame color, but when I notified them of it, they sorted out the problem and a replacement one is on its way. Good Luck. |

they sent you the WRONG one so they had to exchange it. Try puchasing one and return it and see if you get all your money back.

I got burnt with a set of their smoked side markers when I 1st started modding my car - filed the housing slightly to get it to fit flush. Then, after about 1 month, the damn things filled up with condensation. Took them off and threw them out... Better off just getting a replacement LED bulb from HPB or Top Gear

I picked these up from jlevis and these looked and felt cheap. seen the same ones on ebay for alot cheaper also and im sure they are about the same quality.
I returned them since i did not like how the housing was clear and doesn't look oem enough for me. Id suggest buying a can of VHT nightshade paint and some led bulbs, if you wanted led tinted sidemarkers |

We usually offer them as a package deal when you buy our Front turn signals.
If you just want the side markers alone you can get them from high performance bulbs. http://www.highperformancebulbs.com/bmwe9ledsiup.html I do highly recommend upgrading the front turn signals and side markers at the same time for an overall cleaner look. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=604802 Also we hope to have a rear blinker solution that works error free this week. |
