Problem with my 335D..
Since yesterday evening, the car doesn't pull anymore. The rev limiter just goes up, but speed doesn't increase. Can't go any faster than 60mp/h.
Same problem as this guy: http://www.bmwland.co.uk/forums/view...p?f=4&t=129913 The outside temperature was -5°C and we did an intensive roaddtrip yesterday of almost 2 hours. It was at the end that this problem occured. Yes tested again 1 night later. The car still has this problem, but not for the first 10 minutes, but now it does. Torque converter? Gearbox oil? Something else? I'll try to make a video. |

Very difficult to provide accurate diagnosis over the Internet. But based on what you are describing, it may, unfortunately be something major (could just be low on fluid but you should have seen the leaking on the floor). With the "sealed" (no dipstick) BMW transmissions, there is little DIY that can be done. Time for a professional to look at it.
I had a transmission problem with our E39 540 with slipping in several gears. It was not much longer that I lost foward completely and the car had to be towed to a trans shop for a $5,000 US rebuild. The forward drum had cracked. |

I think it might be something related to your first turbo. Possibly the actuator.

If it was only the first turbo, the car would pull from 3000 RPM. But it doesn't pull at all. I think it's the torque converter / gear box..you can see how it slips. Or maybe both turbo's? Last edited by frackje; 02-24-2013 at 11:02 AM.. |

looks like the turbo actuators, there are 2 on the car.
Mine was like that it would not rev past 3k revs and would take ages to get up to 30mph and after that no power what so ever In the end I ended up having replaced both actuators to the turbos/vac pipes and the Manifold Absolute Pressure sensor (MAP). as after the actuators had been replaced I had a slight blip arounf 2.5k revs |

I thought it was the torque converter, it slips too much. Will bring the car to the dealer today or tomorrow. |

I've seen this exact same issue before and the SES light did come on for it in that instance.
