Extended Warranty: New Car Vs. 50,000 Miles
I can't seem to find the answer to this question.
A friend of mine just bought a 2009 328i, and the F&I guy convinced him to buy the BMW extended warranty (6 years, 100,000 miles) when the car is new rather than waiting just before 50,000 miles. He claimed that the extended warranty at 50,000 miles isn't as comprehensive as the extended warranty you buy when the car is new. I have a hard time believing that. The same F&I guy told me the same thing when I got my 328 nearly 8 months ago, but I didn't bite. Does anyone know whether this claim is true or false? Thanks. |

+1, this is what I was told as well. Something about the price being based on your history of work at the dealership.

im just gunna get the extended warrenty if i still plan on having my car for a while right before i hit 50k, thats the best way to do it, then you dont feel obligated to drive that car for 100k miles
