Car is running too rich - now what?

I recently notice gas smell from the exhaust right after engine start up. I believe A/F is running rich. I have the pbx, perf intake, & perf exhaust. Is this normal with these mods or should I have things checked out? No error codes (knock on wood).

Change the setting on the pbx to just throttle response on and performance mapping off. I know everyone likes to use setting 3, but really, trust me, you can't tell the difference between 3 and 6. I've gone from 3 to 6, and now I'm using 5, much less jerky in first gear, it's the perfect fit for me.

Reset the car's ECU. Let the ecu "re-adapt" to the new mods so the car can correctly adjust fuel usage for the increased air flow. I'm not 100% sure but if im not mistaken you have to disconnect the battery and leave it disconnected for 7 minutes...? correct me if I'm wrong.

Fuel on the PBX is mapped by throttle input and RPM. At low throttle / low RPM you run the stock air/fuel ratios. Easy to bypass the tuning though to verify.

no need to disconnect the battery, just follow the pbx instructions, holding down the gas pedal for over 6 seconds (while engine is off but start button pushed in) will reset the ECU.....just switching mappings will reset the ecu for you....

I have had my doubts but I must disagree that level6(throttle sensitivity 100 percent on) feels the same as level 3 with the tun and throttle on.

I was a skeptic until I drove with it on 6 after months of 3---my car felt like a slug for 3 days-i turnedi t back to 3 and it was instant difference--and that rules out throttle response completely as both have the same throttle sensitivty settings.

it DOES probably add a good 10hp and 10tq even if not consistent on dynoes-dynoes are way to inconsistent within 20hp/20 tq from run to run

I run too rich at times also when i run my car hard. I have full exhaust no cats and afe intake. service engine will go away if you start to drive the car normally. My service advisor ( also a forum member) ran codes and told just drive normally and it should go away and it did. Comes on rarely but thats when i beat her hard.

Thats what most people report once they go back to stock mapping. Obviously the power gains aren't enormous, as thats just not possible with a NA motor but they are significant and throughout the powerband.
