Wheel spacers

What's everyone's views on wheel spacers?

I want my car to keep a stock spec, but on my e91 335i I think the standard wheels would fill the arches better if they were a little further out.

This would be primarily a cosmetic mod as the handling is pretty sorted with the Hartge ARBs.

I run 12mm front and 15mm rear on both my winter set and summer set for a year and a half now, no problems. (BMS Spacers)

Good to hear, have you got any pics? I was also thinking either 15 or 20mm on the back and 12 on the front.

I would just caution to make sure your shocks are good before doing spacers. I have a 2011 335d M Sport with stock shocks and stock tire sizes, and when I added 12mm front and 15mm rear spacers, I started getting severe "tire to fender" rub in the back.

I had the fenders rolled, and even now when I have a full load of passengers or a full trunk, on a "bouncy" highway drive I will have the occasional rub in the back.

I'm going to get my rear suspension put on B8s and hopefully that will eliminate the issue. If not, I'm going to be forced to sell the rear spacers or get a smaller size.

Have been running wheel spacers for years without a problem
Just need to make sure they are fitted correctly and are flush with the hub
Spacers by themselves will help but using lowering springs (like H&R sports) to close the gap around the wheel arches will give you a more sporty look IMO
A couple of pics from my build to help you decide

I was running 10mm up front and 15mm on the rears but after changing tires Im runng 5mm all around

The size you need will depend on the gap between the tire and the inside of the fender

This vid explains how to work out the size you need

Also installing them is dead easy

Remove tire
Clean surface of the wheel hub to get rid of any rust and dirt
Put spacer on the wheel hub
Put tires on
Done

Running 12mm all the way around works perfect
make sure they are hub centric and don't forget you also need longer wheels studs!
