Misfire solved, Service Engine Soon Light go out on it's own?
Changed the spark plugs on my 328 today, and on first start up noticed it was mis-firing, and the check engine soon light came on. Re-tighetened and replugged everything, and that solved the problem, but of course the light is still on. Will it eventually go out on it's own, or am i gonna have to have it reset? Already tried via the instrument cluster button, but that doesn't clear it. Will removing the battery fix it? I'm replacing the battery in the next week anyway.

Yes, after a few misfiring monitoring cycles, if the OBDll is satisfied, the MIL indicator light will go out.

Just get a kdcan cable so u can monitor what codes are being thrown, and evaluate the situation without guessing/assuming, save u tons of headaches and hassles..

It will still have the codes store in the DME however, you should wipe them out, so if it arrises again you know the codes pertain to the new issue and are not the remanence of a previous issue..

It's happened to me once, not related to a plug change. Got the SES for misfire, restarted, it was gone, but the error was stored. Cleared it, never came back.
