expansion tank floater broke and disappeared
today i decided that i should check my coolant and found that it was pretty low, so i decided to put some coolant in there. i've notice that the floater didn't come up. so i start poking around in there and found it in the biggest chamber in the expansion tank. i cant seem to get it out and i kind of lost it now. should i be worry it would be lodge in my motor in the future?
thanks for any help and reply, i am scared to turn on my car. |

No worries to run your car. The floater can't get down the hose nor could it pass though the radiator. The only fix for it is a new coolant tank. The part is under $100, but I'm not sure of the labor cost to replace it. You'd have to drain the coolant. And independent BMW mechanic could make that repair for you. You don't need to take it to a dealer.
