Transmission Malfunction, reduced power.

My brother drives a 07 335i with steptronic with 100k+ miles on the car.

this error popped up on the screen and surely enough the power is significantly decreased similar to limp mode.

So what could be causing this problem? Anyone else having similar problems?

I've done my share of research but I haven't came up with any answers.

Nope, most shops are closed on Sundays.

And the car is bone stock, always has been since day 1, well other than cosmetics.

Once warmed up does it stall? ( go to neutral)
If so, you might need a new tranny, atleast I did.

Yupp. It even struggles to start up. Like if the starter is going out too but it only started doing that after the error came up.

The car doesn't stall at all. Due to the reduced power, it get up and goes like an 80s base model Honda civic.

I'm afraid that you have to tow it to dealer/shop who can read out the codes.... Or get a code reader yourself... But the car seams to lack the capabiltie to drive, so you have to transport it anyhow.
