I have for sell a Custom Performance Engineering Front Tow Hook License Plate. This license plate holder is brand new and specially designed for 2007+ BMW E90/E92/E93. The tow hook bolt has some scratch marks for my initial test fitting however the whole unit was not installed. I originally purchased this license plate adaptor on 9/14/2010 however it does not fit my 2011 BMW 335is E93. The unit was purchased on 9/14/2010 for $108.97 [Part = $97.45 and Shipping = $11.52] and it will be resold for $75.00. Please PM me if you are interested in the part. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=434426 |

You should have looked into Gominigo.com they sell something similar but looks like nicer quality and $30-$40 cheaper. GLWS though. |

higher than this license plate holder. You would be able to hook up a small family with 3 to 4 vehicles and still have change for the cheap bubble gum. thanks for the link.

Cal1 Beem1n - Thanks for the suggestion! I actually bought the Gominigo part for $70~ + shipping. It looks great. I originally purchased the CP-E part because it is a better designed part but unfortunately it just didn't fit.
FrankiE90 - You are definitely right that the autozone part is way cheaper but I didn't have the time nor the patience to build my own using th autozone part. It did come across my mind... Thanks all! |

Thanks

Painting the bracket
Frankie90,
I like your solution to the front plate. I picked up the bracket at Autozone and I want to paint it black (or treat it in some way). However, I am concerned that paint will not stick to the metal which has a polishe, mirror finish. What has been your experience? Is the paint holding up? Did you use a black primer? A primer followed by a top coat of black enamel? What brand(s). |

man not really.
u know with the LCI MTECH it's different. there's less room to self tape where i did on the pre-lci. that's the next new project.

I noticed you also have a 335is. The bumper on our cars are different that the one on Frankie's e90. Did you mount your plate yet? Any problems? Did you use the self-tapping screws? |

Yeah, the original write up I did in this thread was on my previous 335i but I did mount the same license plate bracket on my 335is. It pretty much went in the same as my last car. I did use self tapping screws but you still need to get a small drill bit and start off a hole by hand, DO NOT USE A DRILL. Make sure the bit is smaller than the threads of the self tapping screws or else the hole will be too big for them to bite into the bumper. I tried without making a pilot hole first but it just wasn't working out. The plastic is not like wood or metal, it's too slippery for the self tapping screws to really grab hold. |
