Angel Eyes DIY ???

I bought some cheap angel eyes LED bulbs about 6 months ago, and one already went.

So I tough about something, when we put these aftermarket angel eyes, we eliminate the original reflector and by removing the reflector, we get less brightness?.

I took a look at the original reflector and the bulb inside LED alternative is a BA9S, there's plenty on eBay for cheap.

You just need to drill the hole a bit on the original reflector and you'll be able to remove the original bulb and put the LED one.

Im still waiting for mine from eBay, Ill post some pictures when the arrive.

Who tried that already??

Here's a picture of the original angel eyes bulb reflector (I took of the original bulbs already)

The thing is, LED's are extremely directional. There probably wont be any light from the back to reflect anyway.

You still get light from the sides instead of the front only like all these aftermarket angel eyes bulbs

There are a ton of products out there already made for the angel eye replacements for the E90 pre-LCI Sedans. Take a look in the vendor forum as well if you are interested

you're right, but I dont think spending 150$ for a led bulb is worth it, if I can use the original reflector and make more light

here's a picture of the led lights fitted inside the original reflectors ;

I will put them on the car tomorrow

There are a lot of options that are under $150 also. My initial thought is that the rings are going to be pretty dim with this option, but i'd be interested to see how it looks. Do you know how many lumens these are rated for?

Do it right man. Either get lux or the OEM ones. I may have extra ones in my garage. I can give them to you.

You are right, its dim. The reason is aftermarket option goes really near the angel eyes rings. Stock are about 4 cm away. At least I tried

I was just thinking that. I recently installed Lux, and I noticed they are designed to sit right under the angel eye, while the stock bulb is pretty far away.
