Sunroof Problem!!!
When i started my car, the indicator light came on for the Sunroof. I tried to put it in Vent position but it won't work. Tried to close it but it opened half way WTF!!! I did it again when i got home but but no luck at all  Any of you guys have this problem?

Leave the car off for say 1 hour then try to vent it. If you can, then hold the switch in the vent position for at least 10 seconds to reset the sunroof. If that fails, take the car to the dealer.
I hope all goes well with the sunroof.

ALL you need to do is initialize your sunroof.
What you do is you get into your car, put your fob in the slot and turn the car ON (ie don't start it - but push the start button with your foot OFF the break/clutch) Now, push and HOLD the sunroof button up (vent position). After about 15-20 seconds, the sunroof will vent. CONTINUE HOLDING THE BUTTON UP. After anouther couple of seconds, 15 or so (could feel long, but keep holding) , the sunroof will close, the open completely, then close completely. Once the sunroof has closed completely, the proccess is over. It's important that you do not let go of that button while the proccess is happening. Warnings might come up on i-drive or the on-board-computer. That is normal during this initialization. |

There is always manually closing the sunroof by removing the cover and using the wrench to manually close it. Check your owners manual for directions. Might rain. Hope not and good luck!

I've got the same problem... I just don't have time to go to the dealer so I was hoping to find some reset technique here, I am going to try doing what "Broken 1" recommended, hopefully that'll work.
Will update if it does. |

What Broken recommended is listed in the service manual for the e90, its the first thing I do if the sunroof gets out of alignment or otherwise gets flakey

I tried the reset/initialize reccomendation and am not having any luck... my runroof is in the slide mode about 1/4 open and stuck! i put my key in ignition, foot off break and clutch, pushed start button and held the sunroof button upward in tilt postion for at least 30 seconds and nothing happens. Am i posible doing something wrong? Assistance is graetly appreciated thanks 2006330iliiike |
