I have always thought BBS were a bit heavy looking. Good quality though I guess. Still waiting to see the HRE C97's in 19's

just paying for the name, they are well known and respected... although too heavy for my taste

Check out some HRE prices and you will see what strong and lightweight can actually cost LOL (like $6k for a set of 19" wheels). Paying for a name with HRE as well, but honestly probably the best wheels you can buy.

I guess the only thing that you need to have in order to sell your product (whatever it is) is A name. It doesn't matther how quality or how good it is, pepole will buy it for its name

There is more to wheels than just weight. BBS and Rays/Volk have well-deserved reputations for quality products. Perfect symmetry, no inclusions, latest high tech manufacturing processes result in strong, durable, balanced wheels. BBS and Volk forged wheels have exceptional strength/weight ratios. Flow form casting can produce a fine lightweight street wheel though.

plus tires... they are farther "out" than the wheels when rotating and people seem to ignore tire weights. They talk about how "heavy" the runflats are yet a set of RE-11 tires in stock sizes are actually 1 pound heavier according to Tire Rack. I believe the stock 18's have 25 lb front and 26 lb rear, where the RE-11 tires in the same size are 26 lb front and 27 lb rear. PS2's are great since they are more like 24 lb's. You can get Hancook V12 tires that are only 23 lb's all the way around! They get good reviews as well...

Both Advan and BBS supply flow-formed cast to the WTCC.
