Brakes/Rotors question

Ok this is not a question about a BMW, but rather a 7th gen honda accord.

I know there are tonnes of knowledegable car people on this forum so I just had a quick question.

Just got brakes/rotors (both rear and front) replaced (non oem ceramic) on a 4 door 03 honda accord. However the brakes still intermittently squeal.

Anyone have any idea why this would happen? Brakes, rotors all brand new.

Im taking it back to the mechanic but I was just wondering what the issue could be. thanks.

There are some pads that squeal all the time, esp if they are racing/performance pads.

You will get some combos of pads and rotors that will make noise no matter what.
Also ceramic pads are more prone to squeal.

FWIW... Stick with OEM

If you have questions talk to a shop that specializes in honda parts, I'm sure from experience they can tell you which brands work best with each other.

A gel-like rubbery anti-squeal compound is available that is applied between the pads and the anti-squeal shims. If your brakes have been worked on by a professional, very likely the gel-like substance was used. My experience is that the anti-squeal compound helps with the OEM brake pad-rotor combinations, but often fails with others. Unfortunately, the brakes either squeal and don't make dust, or make dust and don't squeal, or do both. At least the breaks used on BMW and Honda cars and motorbikes will not fail to stop the vehicle.
