When I first bought my e90 I bought a pre lci I drive navi disc.Not oem of course. Does anyone else do this?

if you wanna only DVD with new maps.. ofcourse you can download them...

And burn them on a disc myself ?

Yes and them as soon as you insert the new disc just shut of and close your car for like 5 minutes.

Does this work with the newer units? I have a 2011 with navi and need the upgraded maps. A lot of new roads in my area the past three years

2014 Maps on my pre lci e90 working perfectly, for free, sans DVD-Rs.

For newer cic system you can download but need an fsc activation code, which you can get from a few people on the board.
