thanks
Sorry, I tought the graphs were kind of explanative.

The feeling in the upper RPMs is much stronger than stock, its the strongest point of the tune (the other strong point is the lag fix and additional torque that I feel in the lower RPMs but from the graphs it does not appear as such).

So, the power does not fade noticeably after 5800 like the stock does, but it doesn't increase either. I did about 10 runs of 0-60 and I did not feel fading after 5800. From both the graphs and my butt dyno it can be observed that as RPM climbs, the power delta between the Power Kit and stock is increasing, so the power kit has definitely less fading. All I can say is that the power kit is pretty strong up top.

One observation about fuel consumption: it got a bit better in town (about 5% better, from 12.7mpg to 13.5mpg). Didn't expect this. By the way, I live in a very busy town, don't worry about the low mpg

Lots of good info on the kit, thanks for that. I was thinking about it but might wait to see what's included when the facelifted E92 comes out before I invest.
Cheers,

Hello to you all,
I would like to know if the Power Kit is available for 335xi too 'cause my dealer seems to be a little bit confused on the matter.
Anybody knows about it?
Thank you in advance..

An E91 335xi w/ performance tune. In Italy. Sometimes life just isn't fair.
Awesome ride dude, hope you get it worked out. I would PM Cstavaru or some of the other members in Euro, because we folks in the USA are not going to know anything.

That's cool for a factory system.

But I'm thinking under a thousand dollars for a Powerchip flash, and then you already have 300whp with no other mods... Not to mention the ability to correct the boost drop off after 5800 RPM.

Seems like much more bang for your buck. But always nice to have factory upgrades backed by the dealer

What are the chances...If your car didnt come with an Oil Cooler, will BMW install one for free with purchase of this kit? hahaha

It advertises 'additional cooling', yet for those who didn't get one to begin with, it wouldn't be additional.

Your car has a radiator which cools the engine coolant (antifreeze, water, etc.). This kit has hardware that supplements the radiator, hence 'additional cooling'. No false representation at all.

Not available as a dealer installed accessory in USA, may not be available for some time. Demos are available for dealerships, port installed kits & exhaust.

I think this involves legal crap.

Piss. Maybe Qabelli can get us some Euro market kits...

point taken. I don't want to argue the technical legality of the ad. actually I haven't even seen an offical brochure for this kit.

I'm just pointing out that this power kit may very well help answer the age old oil cooler question that alot of early buyers have. bmw's willingness or unwillingness to install a power kit on cars w/o oil coolers will be interesting to see. if the found another way to address the heat issues, great. that just gives some frustrated owners alternatives. that's all I have to say.

Hi,

I have got an idea: go to your dealer and tell him to enter your VIN into the "webetk" (dealer knows what that is - it is a web site which allows dealers to search for the newest parts for a customer's car). Then navigate to the "engine" part section. If the power kit is there, then it is available for you.

Ok, thank you cstavaru!
I'll ask the dealer to search on the ETK!
Anyway, if you remember where you read that the Power Kit is avalilable for 335xi, please inform me, even by pm!

This performance mod sounds like the 2010.5 335 factory stock motor I read about having 25 hp or so more than our cars do. What do ya think, BMW expermenting with out dollar to see how it will work as standard engine next year?? Don't get me wrong, I would like to have it. I would also like to see some timed comparisons rather than just dyno charts and " it feels so much faster". Isn't BMW claiming a couple of tenths?

The N54 engine from the 740i has 20hp more. Theoretically they might up the power given the fact that the emissions and mileage remain the same after the Power Kit, AND the fact that the Audi S4/S5 looks better in reviews. But there are many months until 2010.5...just don't bother

And besides, why wouldn't they remain at the same power level and then force you to pay $2000 more for the Power Kit ?
