JB4 Map 2 on 91 octane....
I've been driving around on map 5 (JB3) for the last 20k miles and the car has never missed a beat. Always felt strong expect for the once in a while when I would get sub-par gas. (it could be from any brand - not just cheap brands)
Even on bad gas, the car still drove fine. It just didn't have punch I'm use to and it was only noticeable under WOT in gears 2, 3, & 4. My only mods are DCI and gutted secondary cats. After 30k miles /20k tuned, here are my plugs... (see below) With the JB4, the car feels great on map 2. As smooth as butter and it seems to be even less particular of the gas. My question is, am I doing damage running map 2 on 91 octane? p.s. - as a safety measure, I limited the global boost to 14psi.

if you want to run map2 safely get a methkit with a failsafe.
More octane Better timing Lower AIT's You could start messing around with map3 400whp with two mods is fun believe me lol.

With the boost limit set to 14 you'll only target 13.5psi. If you are worried and don't want to read logs just run map 1 until the autotuning map 5 is ready for testing. Mike |

not trying to thread jack but wanted to know if you only have the jb4 and dci is it ok to run map 2 with 100 octane or would it be best to keep it at map 1 with the 100 octane map 2 would only be used for the drag strip passes so i wouldn't be driving around town with map 2 on

The intial agressiveness might really just mask how fast ur ar is really going. Do some logs, i an bet your car is really not liking it. If you have PID autotuning enabled, that might help some.

Hahaha what do you mean ur dps started smelling? I mean when u change maps you're really just changing the boost leves correct? And you should be able to run more boost with the less restriction you have. The exhuast system is te most restrictive thing on the car, so deleting the 2nd cats and mufflers is really the same as deleting the 1st cats and that's it. Yes? What do y'all think?

Yea a lil lol I have 8 hours left of my 24hr shift so I'm loosing my Mind. Well i dont care if my care smells like douche water as long as it runs right. I did a few pulls in map 2 and it feels nice, I have to check it out some more to see if I notice something wrong or really different.
