Been trying to get one of my friends to sell his Audi and pick up an e30. He's seriously considering it. This was such a cool video. All the respect in the world to that guy

I love the e30 and David's wonderful story. I've had my e30 (325i convertible bought slightly used) for 17 yrs now. I only use it when the whether is great so it has just 46,000 km (less than 30,000 miles) during its 22 years. I love the sound of the straight six, the feel of the silky gearbox, the way the slim seat hold me, and the nimbleness in the handling. It's an honor to own and a pleasure to drive. There is no way I will let my son drive it just yet ... sure he wants to but he doesn't yet love it the way that David loves his and I love mine.

Other Memories - Clifford Alarm and Brake Warning Lights

I have owned 2 E30's as a teenager in the late 80's / early 90's and share the same appreciation for the car. If you pay close attention to the video those of us from the era will remember the holes left installing a Cliford or UNGO Box keypad alarm in the center column and the infamous brake warning light that always stays illuminated!

The only thing that will make this even more authentic is a broken driver sear frame, cracked dashboard and the "alien" LCD display for the trip computer.

Hope this brings back good memories!

Makes me miss my e21 and my e30. Someday when I have enough garage space I'll have one of each again

Love the video, it was really touching!

My very first car was an '85 BMW 318i then I got an '87 325i similar to the one in the video. I pampered that car... sold it to my parents who wrote it off in an accident.

That was an excellent car.

This really makes me appreciate the fact that I own two beautiful BMW's.
And it also inspires me to continue working on my E30 so that it looks the way I want it.
Great story!

Nothing like some Explosions in The Sky to subtly enhance the emotional aspect of being a car enthusiast.

Made me pull up another tab and look up some e30's on ebaymotors, hah.

I learned driving on my Dad's E30 325i. And this was 16 years ago. Since then I have owned e34, E46, E92. (Still have the 1990 E34 as a daily driver)

The e30 is a legend!

Well done for the guy in keeping it in such a pristine condition!

Serious Kudos to the owner in the video. I know so many people (including me) that feel they should have kept a certain car in their past instead of selling it.
This guy didn't, and I'm sure their have been temptations! That is awesome!

I really can understand his feelings for the E30.
My brother had one back in the early 90's, and when I got my drivers license I wanted one too. But I didn't have the money back then. It always stayed in the back of my head, while driving every other 3 Series from E36 onwards.
Until in late 2009, when I stumbled over a very nice and also quite rare E30 320is 2-door with S14 engine. It was love at first sight.
I initially planned to keep the miles on it low (bought it with a tad over 100.000 kms) and only drive it on special occasions.
Boy was I wrong! I own some nice alternatives to drive, but in the end its always the E30 I want to get in. Its so much fun to drive with its S14 Engine and the nimble chassis. I love its clean and straight forward design.
I threw a lot of money on it over the last 3 years to keep it in like new condition and I will never give it away!
