Looking at the engine, left side. Look straight back from the left side of the black coolant reservoir tank, there's a 3" gap in the rubber seal going across the back of the compartment, looks torn. There should be no gap, behind it is the intake for the cabin ventilation system. I also had to replace mine, as the seal was short on both sides, $16 from the dealer, easy DIY.

It's not from a dealer, and it's not Krown - Krown doesn't gel like that. It stays thin and oily. Nothing says a previous owner didn't just slather that stuff on from an aerosol can...

From the limited pictures it looks more like Fluid Film, or Amsoil MP HD, or Cosmoline or any one of the other protectants which dries waxy.
