I am buying modded 328i, please advice

Hi guys I need little help.
I am buying 328i with custom paint job and car has sport rear bumper and double exhaust.

Carfax is clean, but history began from 6,331 miles :
Listed as a manufacturer vehicle
Sold at auction
Carfax said the car still has almost 2 years/20k miles warranty.

My questions are:
1. Will warranty still apply if car has custom paint job and different bumper + exhaust???
2. Car located in different state, can i verify if BMW will CPO this car???
3. Why car history began from 6k miles?? Car was used as demo car on dealership???
4. Car has check engine light "on". Dealer told that he will take care of it when i will buy a car. wtf??? They should did it before they put car on sale!

Keep it moving man. Buy stock and CPO from a dealer.

Have the vehicle inspected with a paint meter for previous repairs and bondo.

Buying a 328i is bad enough (take it from me, I have one) but buying a modded 328i is insane.

quit bashing the 328i because you bought a bottom of the line ugly one with ugly rims. OP, do you have a link to this car?

I know the truth hurts, but the 328i is an inferior, poor-performing, wannabe 335i. The first step is accepting this and taking the steps necessary to get a proper 3-series. Or, you can just continue to fool yourself into thinking that your slow 328i is a cool car.

335i = fuel pump issues, turbo issues.
I don't want to stuck on the middle of the desert with broken fuel pump.
But I like power of 335i.

Well I'm 20. Most kids my age are driving 10 year old hondas and toyotas so I do consider my 328i a cool car and am thankful for it. You sound like a spoiled prick and your posts are very annoying. Should've probably researched your purchase in the first place instead of wasting thousands of dollars a few months later to upgrade to basically the same car which you probably haven't done yet because your parents said no.
Plus you iive in Gainesville where the highest speed limit is 35mph so whats the point? lol

Limp mode will get you out of the desert Moses.

I cant believe that you guys turned even THIS into a 328 vs 335 thread. The 328i isn't "trying to be" or a "wannabe," it's a fucking all-around car and the 335i is the same car which happens to have a more powerful engine. Each one does what they do. They were never meant to compete with each other.

Thanks

So if car has aftermarket body parts warranty will still apply?
Can I CPO this car?

Then stfu and go buy a 335 or a M3. Don't cry on here about how much you hate your own car. YOU bought it.

It is lighter, a lot more reliable, it stops shorter, it handles better, it costs much less, gets better mpgs, its cheaper to insure...Please go TROLL!
Back on topic, OP DO NOT buy that car.

You can't CPO a car. You buy it that way from a dealer.

I believe CPO basically is the same as BMW's silver extended warranty + an inspection and make sure all things are up to spec.... but in your case, since the car is modded, chances are no dealer is going to CPO this car

1. I don't think paint job or bumper would affect the original manufacturer's warranty because it's just cosmetic. Exhaust probably won't affect it either. call or visit the service dept at a dealer and ask them

2. If you're buying the car from a BMW dealer then it's up to them to determine if the car is CPO or not. if you're not buying from a BMW dealer then it's not going to be CPO

3. probably was a demo car.

4. says a lot about the care and condition of the car

Based on #3 and #4 I would stay away from this car. Plus, paint job could mean that the car has been in an accident. Clean Carfax doesn't mean shit because only accidents that are reported to the police and/or insurance are going to show up. If someone wrecked the car and didn't get a ticket and didn't claim insurance, it's not going to be on the Carfax

"take care of it" means he will reset the ECU so the light doesn't come back on until you drive it off the lot and you're almost home.
