I managed to get the file, but there seem to be considerably less cameras showing than with Sergeis version - are the mobile spots not included?

But otherwise the disk worked just fine - thank. I'll probably grab Sergeis offering too, though

As I said earlier I used a camera DB from April, as that is all I had.
Its real easy to update it. On the disk, browse to \tpd\ntcBeuFNM_eu_20080401\ENG\TABLES\0 and you will find 2 files called 0079.IDX and another called 0080. Just take whatever POI camera DB you want and repame them to 0079.IDX and 0080, replace them and reburn the disk using nero following the instructions here http://www.bmwnavaddpoi.co.uk/neroway.htm

Thats it. If you want you can subscribe to pocketgps, and update them as and when you want folowing the above instructions. You will also have to see the above link to convert the pocketgps.asc to and .idx

The rest of the work has already been done.

If someone wants me to do it, just send me the speedcamera.asc or idx and I will update the image abd rehost it

Good work from coodem.

Allegedly, Sergei Industries' 2008-2 'Special Edition' SatNavPro DVD includes a combination of the June European Speed Camera Database AND a June release of a UK Speed Camera Database, available from a site, which, apparently, has resorted to restricting the use of information, to which its members have contributed data & money.

All the best.

Why can't I copy this file to a memory stick of 8Gb? The file is only just over 6Gb. Windows just keep saying the disk has not enough space when it is empty.

It may be down to the file system you have "formatted" your memory stick with. Some (FAT32) limit individual files to 4 GB. Change to NTFS.

Although ... I would just wait for the definitive, up-to-date and Europe wide Sergei edition.

As Dave has said, Windows uses FAT32 as the default file system on external memory sticks. The Mac's 'Disk Utility' will let me easily change formats, but I don't know if Windows will be as 'friendly'?!

Sergei recommends everyone to wait for 'distribooshun' to begin, soon.

All the best.

Wink

Sergei is annoyed that Richard Branson is taking the liberty to throttle his upload speed.

Allegedly, current data suggests a swarm speed of 1.6Mb/s, 41.5% of total data uploaded, 27.5% file distribution and over 40 concurrent seeders so far.

Can I ask what's meant by "-Still NO full postcode search.. "

Does that mean the BMW Satnav doesn't support full UK Post codes?

That's right.

It means that the nav will not accept a full postcode (last 2 digits are redundant) as a destination- you need to enter the road name also, if you initially enter a postcode destination.

As you know Paul, Sergei is quite a recluse, only occasionally making his way into the meet 'spotlight'.

He'll do his best to make his presence known at UK6, I suspect.

Just wondering - Possible Single Layer solution????

If you delete the FRE, ITA, SPA, DEU (leaving just the ENG) folders from within the ISO, Will it then work ok having been written to a single layer DVD?

Can't see why not although I would delete the data rather than the folders.

Had already starting burning before i saw your post - which makes more sense - to keep the folder structure intact.

But anyhow...

Yep!! Seems to work fine. I just removed the non-english folders and burned it to a single-layer DVD+RW Verbatim disk and after the 5 min update all seems good. Has the new Information options and also the new dual carriageway near me that was missing on the 2008-1 disk.

Happy Days

Thanks to Coodem and Sergei.

I imagine youve burned Coodem's version. I did on Saturday and feel that the Sergi Industries Delux Version will give you far more 'points of interest' - if you have the pocket gps data elsewhere you can incorporate into your version however.

If not then you get to leave your pc on for another few days ......
