Anyone on here happen to know a cool optometrist? My eyes qualify me for tint law exceptions. Now I just need to meet a cool optometrist who likes cars so I can LEGALLY run like 25% all around on my car. I've been waiting to tint it until I can find one but it is proving to be quite hard.

2013 F30 pricing is out today. I was pretty excited for it until BMW yet again gives the finger to xDrives. 135is might be fun. Sigh, first world problems.

Seriously dude, no idea what they're thinking!

Contrary to prior reports, BMW won't be producing a sport suspension option for F30 xDrive cars with the Sport Line or M Sport Package. They'll get the same standard suspension as the other cars.

Pricing is also going through the roof. Base pricing is going up $1,500 plus an additional $2,100 for xDrive. Granted, they're offering more standard features (power seats, fold down rear seats, auto-dimming mirrors) but you'll be shelling out $40k for a base no line 328i xDrive. You'll hit $45k just for selecting the sport line. It's insane. They're charging $2,500 for the sport line on xDrive models yet we don't get the sport suspension and the RWD does for the same money. It's mind-boggling

Yeah, now I'm not sure what to do. Skipping xDrive is an option, I'd be okay with RWD/snows. Would save some cash that way.

However, based on the order guide, it looks like ZDH (adaptive M suspension package) is identical for xDrives and non-xDrives. Of course it's yet another $1000... BUT does that mean RWD and AWD cars equipped with ZDH get the same suspension? Or does it just let you adjust the xDrive suspension? And how does ZDH on xDrive compare to ZDH on RWD? And to just the regular sport suspension?

So many questions, zero answers.

I noticed that too. I'm assuming it won't be the same suspension - unless they offer a stiffer suspension but don't lower it for xDrives. I know that was a rumor in the M-Sport information thread but I'm not counting on it.

As for me, this may have priced me out of a new car for a bit. I was ok spending around $42-$43k for a Sport Line xDrive but now that it's going to be $45k+, I'm not so sure. With a baby on the way, I can't imagine I'll be able to talk the wife into a RWD sports sedan

I probably shouldn't tell you that the X1 is being offered with a sport suspension when equipped with the Sport or M-Sport packages. Yup, you got that right. BMW is giving a sport suspension to an AWD SUV but neglecting their benchmark sport sedan. I am in a true love/hate relationship with BMW right now - they make no sense!!

Enjoying the single life at the moment actually.

I noticed that too. The 3 defines BMW's brand, it's their most important car with the most history. It's the benchmark. And it's ridiculous they offer a sport suspension in an xDrive SUV and not the xDrive 3.

This is quickly getting too expensive. Now we need to add $1000 for ZDH and another $900 for performance tires and increased top speed limiter - both of which should be standard on an "M Sport" 3 series starting at ~$50k before other options. And that Tech Package at $3100 (!) is insane. Add some heated seats and HK audio, and this is a $60k sedan. Yikes.

Driving home with a 6MT in bumper to bumper traffic makes me want to kill people

This weather has destroyed the commute home both days so far, what is it with a little drizzle that causes people to drive this way

+1. It's like people forget to drive once the weather changes! Fortunately, its not as big of a torture to me since I have an AT. Even then, I spend at least 30 mins sitting in the O'Neill tunnel everyday on my way back for the past few weeks. Ridiculous!

I drove home from work last night with the top down (Norwood MA -> Warwick RI). Man what a mistake. There was so much pollen and crap in the air that my eyes felt like they were being sandblasted even with sun glasses on. It's been such a crappy spring with all this pollen. Impossible to keep my baby clean.

Holy crap Joe, that is awesome!

The waiting game sucks. You will have the bmw number memorized by heart. When mine was ordered, I called everyday to see where it was on the assembly line. Once it was done, I tracked the ship it was on daily.... it is going to suck!

Thanks guys, I'm really excited for it! Fortunately, things are so busy right now.. should help pass the time quicker. But I'm expecting a chassis allocation very soon and will be tracking its progress in the factory and on the boat. Also going to do PCD!

Guys,

How does the last Sunday this month sound, 29th, for a meet?

Lots of new faces around here, would the Burlington area work for people?
