Battery registration

I recently replaced my OEM battery with one from Pepboys. The next day, I started getting intermittent adaptive headlight errors. I'm almost positive the error codes are because I haven't registered the battery. I don't want to pay the stealership $100+ for a simple battery registration. Any ideas where I can get it cheaper? Or any enthusiasts out there with an unlimited-VIN BT tool?

LOL, I posted this same question a few days ago. Sorry to hear about your errors, I didn't have any problems after my change but I ended up going to Curry's to have proof the registration was done in case bmw tried to deny any warranty claims for improper install. They charged 65 and it only took 40 min.

I don't if its true, but does the Bmw only take the BMW batteries. I have a friend who works for a shop and they replaced the battery and the guy came back later and said the new battery died.

Not sure if this helps, but I noticed that the newest Procede firmware has

BATTERY ADAPTATION RESET

listed in the Command Center. Not sure what that does but might be worth a shot.

Just wanted to update - got battery registered at Excluservice in Rockville. $55.

so far so good, but i'm starting to get long cranks on the few very cold mornings we've had. about 4-5 cranks before it fires up. dealer said it's all in my head, so we'll see...could be battery, starter or something else
