the cage is pretty much finished. Seat bracket has been made and bolted down. Next is the roof going back and getting painted then we'll finish up the wiring and paint the interior.
We've decided to run the required Koni's on the car for grand am races and for the NASA CCA racing we'll use a set of AST's with vorshlag camber plates. We've got a customer/friend that has been running the same setup for about a year now and absolutley loves it. He used the car for one lap for america last year and also DD's it. |

It's all about driver protection because you don't have a passenger in the car when you're racing.

Those pictures of the cage are also somewhat early in the build stage as well.
The finished product runs all the way up to the front footwell and up the A pillar's along with some more work at the back seat and x's at the front doors. I left my camera sitting in the garage today or else i'd be updating you all with pretty much a finished cage. We ended up ordering an OEM 535i oil cooler that is front mounted and has a very large surface area. One reason we chose this was due to the large surface area that requires less ducting to get the cooling needed as grand am will penalize for too much of this sometimes. |

i was also wondering if you guys were going to change the alignment so that it becomes more evenly distributed when the driver sits inside the car?

Once we have taken our weights for the car track ready it will give us a better idea of where we are at and what adjustments need to be made as far as weight distribution goes.
We spent yesterday sorting out a traction control and drive by wire issue the car was having. For some reason the gas pedal wasnt giving us any kind of response. Re loomed the wires for it separately and got that working. We will only run traction control in the wet if need be which is a first along with ABS. We also installed the Koni's finally and will spend this coming weekend doing testing and deciding what needs to be adjusted. Here are a few pictures. The OEM steering wheel is in just for the moment we have a Sparco wheel and quick release hub that will be used once the car is finished. To make things clean we cut up the OEM dash to fit over and around the cage and made side plates. If our carbon fiber guy ever gets around to it we'll have him make us a CF dash panel |

We were working on the car till about 1am wednesday night to get it ready for VIR this weekend. Pretty much shakedown, we need to adjust the brake bias to get things more stable but besides that it did well.
Made 218whp on dynojet with correction Here are two quick pictures, this is before we get our livery on it. |

Nothing at all. Only thing we are allowed is a Bosch ecu that apparently doesn't do much.
Retaining the stock headers with a custom Exhaust is all we've done. |

we ended up cutting the cats out of the headers to make a custom setup for that. Speaking with a few different people we decided against going with supersprint headers as they arent really good for much power over the stock header on this car. We have yet to put in the 335 oil filter housing with fittings for an oil cooler instead of making something. Though it is one of the top priorities.
We will be heading to Jersey next weekend for our first koni race. Vinyl is on brakes are ready and so are we. I'll get some pictures from todays nasa races at summit and two weekends ago at a CCA event at VIR up later on |

I'd be going to Jersey to watch but got to make a run to Va Tech on Sunday.
I was just curious to see how the e90 would do compared to my spec e30. Good Luck next weekend. |
