Anyone have first hand experience of how long a BM takes, from build completion to the dealer?

Depends on what transit damage they need to repair !!

most dealers have order slots made, so when you buy they can tweek the colour and spec,

Depends how things fall. My dealer told me the car had commenced build on a Monday and I was sitting in it the friday of the following week.

What have you ordered?

M3 Coupe, with delivery date of mid/late August

Dealer told me last Monday the car was "built". when I asked him for a more up to date delivery date, so I could put things in place this end. he now just claims it's "painted" and we are still looking at late August, so from what he's saying. It takes a month from painting

I believe all new M3s from August get delivered to my house for the running in period. You can come and collect in December.

BMW were throwing £7800 at the deal and in some cases the DCT was a free upgrade. Doing the numbers, the car will cost me less PM than owning over the same period.Plus I don't have to worry about residuals in two years time.
