As soon as these filters get here I'll let you know. Temps in the engine bay are easily around that temperature, but theres a chance that the air being intaked wont be.

Either way it's clear that any increase in temp is offset by the decrease in resistance, at least on the dyno, which is what I will be testing. That is, if it will translate on the road or not. M&Ms testing was a good start, but I didn't really think it was empirical enough with to many variables between the comparisons.

the DYI link is on the heck "other" forum.

until now only ideas + a few IAT temperature comparisons more or less proving this thing is comparable to the stock intake box in terms of IAT and heat soak, just gives better air flow.

O-cha, on the "other forum" you mentioned 150deg F.....which seems really low to me. Does a anyone have a measured amount? Im not concerned with the IAT, just the physical compartment temp. The coupler Im making is only good up to 260deg

Someone took thermal images of the engine bay, they are here somewhere. If you can wait till the weekend I could tell you for sure. That's when I'll do the testing.

and the 150 was in reference to something else, not the max temps in the engine bay.
