I have the paper at home. We get auto collision notification, stolen vehicle recovery, enhanced roadside assistance. And something else. $190 + tax a year.

Thanks nospleeny

When you have a moment please read over the paper you have, I am curious what it says. I did not get any papers or any instruction from my SA and to top it off when I went to renew it last week I found out that for the whole free year it has not been sending any signals to them and has not been properly setup. Having this looked at by the dealership is no prob however it is a 10h round trip just to drive there and back.

Cheers

Here you are:

Our thing includes 5 things. It's a safety plan for $190 a year + taxes. We get...

1. Automatic Collision Notification
2. Emergency Request
3. Enhanced Roadside Assistance
4. Stolen Vehicle Recovery
5. Remote Door Unlock

I'm going to scan in the little sheet I got in the mail now.

read somewhere online that these things have ESN numbers in them. ie., if you manage to get Rogers to take them you would be able to use them as a cellphone

And why would you want to do that? That would be identical to having a car phone... you couldn't bring it anywhere.

Not to mention, this BMW Assist free for a year comes with the premium package which already includes bluetooth.

Canadian BMW Assist sucks compared to what they do for you in the US.

Regarding using it as cell phone, doesn't Bluetooth come part of the package anyways??

I was told that the bluetooth only came with the premium package (at least with my 335xi). No premium, no bluetooth.

I wonder if it's worth renewing after the first year, has any Canadian renewed and what made you do it?
