Processor questions

Hi everyone looking for some hands info regarding processor choice. Trying to decide between the usual suspects: ms-8, bit one, alpine pxe-h660, audio control dql-8. Here are my questions / concerns.

1. I want to use the factory head unit for volume control.
2. Will only need 6 channels.
3. Wondering about how much the "auto" eq functions are necessary. I have access to an RTA and have experience tuning cars- albeit from a while ago and more building from the ground up as opposed to minimizing stock limitations.
4. With that said can factory HU (hi fi, non logic 7) be coded to put out non-eq'd signal?

Thanks in advance.

The Hi Fi non logic 7 HU output is flat

Only the base system needs eq correction .
The older logic 7 systems can be coded to the flat hi fi output according to the posts here.
The Base System or stereo is the one that requires correction because apparently it can't be recoded.
The Hi Fi non logic 7 HU output is a flat 5 volt differential signal
it interfaces with most amps that take a balanced signal without
the need for LOCs

To get better tuning a processor can be added but its not
absolutely needed on a Hi Fi system.

Thanks for the info, I thought I had read here somewhere that the hifi was eq'd but i must have mistaken for base unit. Are there actually 6 channels from the head unit to the amp? the technic harness makes it seem like only 4.

yes there are 6 channels from the amp

There are three basic systems
1) the stereo or base if you read the history only a few unlucky people in the US got this one in the 2010 early 2011 year. but its standard world wide and you pay for the other 2 system in other country's even Canada
2)The Hi Fi 6 amped channels and 10 speakers
analog 5 volt differential from the HU to the amp 4 channels
3)The L7 or top Hi Fi 9 channels 13 speakers I think check
the pdf surround sound and the bad, a fiberoptic proprietary
connection between the HU and amp.

The Hi Fi is the easiest to modify as a result.

If you read the history in those links I sent in the previous response it describes everything in detail.

In the front for Hi Fi, two channels go to the doors and two to the floors.

If you have the right Technic harness it will have 6 channels
out 4 in . It should be a real short one as there is already wiring to the the trunk and most people put there amp in the OEM location.
