Good video with impressive driving, just very confused how he is going past them as if they are standing still.. He even backed off himself after he got into the lead..WTF?

To Carlos .. most of his overtaking looked like the result of late braking. The curves on the top of the mountain are really deceptive (my knowledge is from Toca 3 ) and the driver seems to have a lot of pace through them compared to the other drivers. It almost looks to me as if he is lapping some of the tail markers at this point as the cars he passed earlier seemed to have more pace.

I don't think he slows down at the end. Looks to me as if the video just goes a bit wrong before it fades out. He would have had to slow right down for the fairly tight last bend, but he's just at the beginning of a very long fast straight, so it's not the place where you would expect someone to back off.

'Balls of steel' award for the late braking manouevres on top of the mountain though

Yeah mate i know about late braking having raced myself and waz partial to the odd ''lunatic lunge'' all the time myself. Just this video seems as if its a load of old grandads against one racing driver. He is leagues ahead of any of them. Obviously not a competative class, if it was very close he wouldnt have been going thru the field as if it was ''going out of fashion''

I think you are right Carlos. Overtaking on the mountain section at Bathurst usually results in hospitalisation . The driver in the vid must have been well ahead of the others technically to cut through the pack like that. It's really narrow through those sections and there is really only one line to be on, so sneaking past ain't easy.

Still some awesome moves though, especially when he snuck through on the far right .

Incredible driving - He's a lot more fluid than the others and keeps his corner speeds high. Bet the rest of 'em were more than a little embarrased when asked by the boss later " Why were you so slow?"

Do talent scouts look out for good drivers like him and is this how they move up the ranks?

Not really no, in that class he is likely to be paying his own way (as all the drivers do in some particular classes) and is enjoying that form of motoracing, if he wanted to be an f1 driver or the like, he would be in single seaters.

Team managers wont look in an elise catergory for potential ''stars''.

Look at the current crop of F1 drivers. All came thru karting then into single seaters.
before progressing if god enough into F1.

A season of Formula 3 in this day and age in a top team will cost a driver (or his daddy) 400K UK sterling.
