Thumbs up GIAC Stage 1 flashed

Got my car flashed with GIAC Stage 1 REV2 running otherwise stock and 95oct daily. The flash feels and preforms amazing and miles ahead of anything I've had prior to it. I'm a long time JB user and not going to provide any comparisons out of respect, I will say only that powerwise it's up there with MAP5. Dataloged a few runs in 3rd, max boost seen 13-14 at 5000 tapering to 11-12 at redline. Life is good.

Nice!

Do you happen to know what has been changed in REV 2 of the stage 1 flash?

May I ask what mods you have on your car?

Congrats and welcome to the club - the GIAC contingent on here is growing

Rev2 was supposed to address some of the overboosting issues for those with HFC/catted DP and/or catless midpipes.

I was going to be a stage 2 beta tester but I still have stock midpipes (have pretty much every other bolt on mod, though)

It is winter and I have a hard enough time keeping traction on my 235 winter tires so I will wait until spring and maybe then they will have a stage 2 rev 2

enjoy the newfound power!!!

Thanks! Powerwise there is really no surprise for me here after JB3 MAP7. The way it's delivered with the flash, this is something else...

That's good to know. I was afraid I would run into this issue, and I don't plan to run catless. Therefore my car wouldn't meet stage 2 requirements.

IMO the gap between stages 1 and 2 was too big (in terms of the flash taking profit of certain mods such as FMIC, DPs). Nice to see GIAC adressed this!

Guys please look at the OP before asking. I'm stock and 95oct. is my only mod No dynos yet, may do some spring time. I don't really care about the numbers, if I would I'd keep the JB3.

Thank you for the kind words! The revision 2 he refers to has a smoother boost ramp and is a bit torquier down low. We haven't officially released anything yet as we may move some things that we done in stage 2 down to stage 1.

Austin,

If you move things down to Stage 1 would you notify your customers somehow? I'll be looking for an update from PFAFF Tuning in Toronto if that's the case.

Thanks.

How do you get the GIAC flash?I have an 07 335i coupe,6MT,sport pack.My mods as far as performance goes is an SSTT with the BMS DCI,otherwise bone stock.I have gone through many flashes and supporting mods before my 335 with my two previous Evo,s.I,m looking to upgrade but dont want to go into the ECU at all.Thank god i didnt go with the Dinan flash when it came out because of a lot of bullshit i heard about them after many users complained.I plan on keeping my car just with the DCI and a flash on 93oct.I may get an exhaust but thats it.BTW just a cat back,no dp,s or anything else.

Go to giacusa.com and find a local dealer near you. It's $800 installed for Stage 1 I believe. You won't regret
