What's Your Tire Pressure at Delivery

Driving the wife's new 335i two days after she took delivery, something did not feel right in the ride/steering. On a hunch I checked the pressure on all four tires. Here's what I read (psi): RF= 45, LF= 55, RR= 55, LR= 65. So the tires were over inflated by 10-30 psi, and the fronts showed a 10 psi difference.

Reduced the pressure down to spec, which was interesting because I got to see the FTM in action (warned me about significant loss of tire pressure). Reset the FTM according to the manual, and now the drive is much better.

Anyone else have this experience?

Don't remember exactly, but my 328 with 17" RFT's were slightly over inflated to around 40 psi, but were pretty equal. Set them to the door sticker 32 psi all around, but the RFT's just suck. I've tried lots of pressures and I'm convinced this tire just doesn't work.

funny, mine were under inflated. hey, why is the back tires more than the fronts. I thought it would have been the other way around like my other cars, more infront than the rear.

44-46 on rears and 41-42 on front...

my guess is bmw underates everything... even their psi meters

and they ship them with higher pressures. its the dealer's PDI responsibility
to adjust... which they dont (6pdi's and hr vs 2 = dont need to be a brain surgeon to figure where the money is)

unfortunately we pay for it.

imagine this we have 44-46psi in our tires (max is 50psi) and we take the car over 100 mph for 5-10 minutes and a tire blows out. we loose control and total the car... WHO THE F is gonna assume responsibilty us or the dealer... and how can we prove it ? please note even the door sticker states something like 34 front and 36-38 rear if kept below 100mph.
