I decided to let them program the car (although I'm not sure i ever had a choice with this part replacement). I emailed them to see what they programmed it with and this is what the response was:
"34.1 but didn’t affect DME" anyone want to pick that apart for me? "didn't affect DME", how does updating the software not affect the DME |

I did mention lag issues people have had with certain software revisions in one of my many emails (the guy probably hates me by now hah).. although I'm not concerned since procede has lag-fix.. but perhaps that is what he's referring to: no lag issues with 34.1?

correct me if im wrong
once the car is hooked up -- the test plan will indentify the new component(s) and upgrade any other that is deemed "necessary" the new version of software will contain all the downstream changes -- this should incorporate all the "fixes" (patches) that were applied in the previous versions. this shouldnt be a "real" bad thing, as anything from 32.1 and up is pretty responsive. i have 32.1 and its pretty nice and i did have a chance to drive the '07 model (prior to its release in late '06) and yes the throttle response is different.. but it is a lot "smoother.... but from my understanding when the Integration level is updated all applicable software is brought to the current level also that why i hesitate when thinking of taking the car in for issues -- it runs good as it is.. |

On all my services I always tell them not to do software updates without speakign to me first, and it always says it on my service sheet:
"NO software updates without prior approval from service adviser and customer." Will await a review from you once you get your car.

my quote "(the early DIS testers ran on SCO UNIX)" i was referring to the operating system used earlier diagnostic platform. progman is the installed application -- i believe the ISIS system - along with ISTA/P, and ICOMS that are in current use are Windows based... |
