Must have more POWER!!!
Okay guys let me start by saying I purchased a 328i coupe keeping in mind that NA would be the more "reliable" way to go. I easily could have had a 335 but after not only reading about the endless HPFP problems, faulty waste gates and so on and so forth and also from friends and BMW tech friends who've had endless problems, I decided to not go turbo route for now. Granted not all of you 335 drivers have had the same problems or to the same degree.
Well anyways here's the real reason I'm posting this, the other day on my way to work in the left turning lane I can see behind me a fellow BMW owner driving a 3 series sedan after taking a little closer look I realize it was actually a pretty cute chick driving. After we turn she gets on it and passes up me like no tomorrow It's then I realized she was driving a 335i because of the badge and dual exhaust. And for a split second I not only felt threatened by a female but had me wishing I went with 335 instead. So question is what can I do if anything to have my car keep up or come close to keeping up with a 335 I know this is probably wouldn't be an easy project nor cheap but all in all I just want some good power gains. I've already explored the basics in the way of intakes, exhaust systems and the BMS power box but is there anything else? Also keeping in mind I still have the factory warranty. Sorry for the long post but any input would be appreciated. |

get a 3 stage intake manifold like a 330i and the programing for it
get a decent intake and a good exhaust get the pbx thats about all you can do. A stock 328i sucks.. This is my first and last 328. Already got my 335iS picked out for the spring |

We have an intake, exhaust, and the Power Box all in stock to make your N52 BMW go faster!
These three mods have been praised to offer a great improvement in driveability and performance! |

I can put some Nitrous in your car if you really want to go fast.
But some weight reduction with lighter wheels and tires, lighter exhaust system, more efficient intake system and a tune (flash or PBX) will do a lot for a 328 and make it much more responsive and fun to drive. Let me know if im able to help out a local |

Thanks for the input guys. I'm not in the position of getting a 335i right now but I guess I'll have to go the I/H/E route with a power box. Never even thought of swapping out the intake manifold. Not sure I wanna go with nitrous in this car. Hmm guess I'll have to go with an M3 for my next car lol. Maybe just skip the 335 all together.

See my thread on having a 3.64 LSD rear end installed. My car screams now!
Still averaging 25 mpg mixed. Turns 3000 rpm at 75... can't tell the rear was changed other than looking at the tach at that speed. |

I can't wait to do the LSD, but I think it will be my final mod to tie everything together.

I turn about 2700 to 2800 in revs with my xi at 75 stock. Your added power probably helps along with being significantly lighter but it makes no sense for me to swap gears on mine. I think if realy wants that bump in performance he needs to drop weight and open up the restrictions in the engine. You can push close to 300 at the flywheel with the mods we have availiable for the 328 these days.

If we go for some headers and my MMW exhaust you will gain some really nice power, then do a 3 stage manifold upgrade, with a tune for it, add an aFe intake and some hood scoops and your going to have one Beast of a 328. Im in the process of doing one now
